In 2009, HULONG SPORTS entered the kick scooter industry — and did so on its own terms. Rather than outsourcing, the company brought injection molding, robotic welding, spray coating and final assembly fully in-house. This vertical integration meant Hulong could control quality, lead times and cost across the entire production chain, from a raw steel tube to a finished scooter in a retail carton. The move built directly on two decades of manufacturing experience that began with power tools in 1989 and expanded into e-bikes (2002) and in-house e-bike motors (2003). By integrating scooter production, Hulong positioned itself as a full-process OEM/ODM partner rather than a trading company.
